Statement on racist and Islamophobic terrorism

August 12, 2024 C4 Centres
Camden Community Centres Consortium unequivocally stands against the national racist and Islamophobic terrorism displayed by the far-right up and down our country.
Consortium members have a rich history of fighting systemic injustice through our programmes and working towards equitable processes, so that all of Camden’s citizens have equity, not only in services available to them, but more importantly for their own personal safety.
We commit today and always to have each of our doors open for anyone feeling unsafe, because of the colour of their skin and faith. We will make you feel secure and protected. With your permission, we will support you so that the hate against you doesn’t go unnoticed.
We commit in the same way, to protect all citizens against all discrimination, including age, disability, sexuality and gender. We promise, within our operational hours, that not only will our doors be open, but also our hearts and our networks – to ensure justice is achieved. We highly recommend the use of Tell Mama for times when our centres are closed.
Every single one of us, and especially the Chief Execs who are survivors of racial violence in the UK, stand by this statement and the vision of a borough with a mission for equity for all.
